Body Contouring and Cellulite Reduction

A new revolutionary system that uses low level lasers for smoothing cellulite, fat reduction, and body shaping treatments!

What is laser lipolysis

Laser Lipolysis (ex. ilipo, zerona) is a new revolutionary system that uses low level lasers for smoothing cellulite, fat reduction, and body shaping treatments. The laser lipolysis uses photobiomodulation to stimulate the body's natural process for releasing stored content in the adipose cells. Every day, the human body is storing excess calories from your diet in the adipose tissue. The brain is in control of when the contents are released, and then metabolized into energy. You can compare the adipose cells to a re-chargeable battery, sometimes used and sometimes stored up depending on diet and exercise. Laser lipolyisis is used to trigger the release of the contents, without exercise, and is able to target the precise stubborn areas. Laser lipolysis is non-invasive with no pain, no needles, and no downtime. Patients can expect results of losing 1-2 dress sizes during their course of treatments. Laser lipolysis is best paired with with a change in lifestyle to maintain your results, typically just simple diet and exercise.

The course of treatment should be 8 sessions, performed twice a week so body reshaping can be complete in four weeks. Only 1 area is treated per course in order to maximize the metabolising of the fat cells contents. If there is an excess of content in need of being burned off then there is a risk that it will be stored back as fat again. Once a patient has completed a course of treatments they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep their results.

How it Works

The machine emits low levels of laser energy, which creates a chemical signal in the fat cells, breaking down the stored triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol and releasing them though channels in the cell membranes. The fatty acids and glycerol are then transported around the body to the tissues that will use them during metabolism to create energy.

This process of fatty acid release is a natural response of the body when the body needs to used stored energy reserves, thus laser lipo is not creating any unnatural reaction in the body nor does it affect or damage any surrounding structures such as skin, blood vessels and peripheral nerves. A period of exercise post treatment will ensure the complete metabolism and thus elimination from the body of the freed fatty acids.

When you consume more calories than you use, the extra calories are stored as fat inside a fat cell. The laser using the latest technology, emits low levels of safe laser energy, which passes safely through your skin and onto the fat cells. This affects the fat cell membrane (outside wall of the fat cell) and causes it to release the fat stored within it. This does not affect the neighboring structures such as skin, blood vessels and peripheral nerves.

Fat spills out from the broken cell membranes and are released into the interstitial space where they are slowly transported through the body's natural lymphatic system, it is strongly advisable to undertake some form of physical exercise to help dispose of the fat more efficiently and ensure it is not reabsorbed.

Targeted Fat reduction

Target fat reduction in specific problem area. By positioning the laser pads on the target area such as chin, upper arms, abdomen or thighs fat can be broken down and removed specifically from that area. This is a big advantage over diet and exercise which can reduce overall body fat but not shape individual areas.

What to expect

Your initial appointment will be 30-45 minutes with returns at about 20 minutes. You will have time to discuss your requirements with your therapist, you will be weighed and measured and then spend 20 minutes on the i-Lipo, followed by a 30-40 minute supervised cardio workout with our staff fitness trainer. To ensure the most successful outcome 8 sessions, one every 2-4 days over the course of 4-5 weeks must be committed to. There is no upper limit to the number sessions or number of body locations that may be treated.
